"French Drove was spoken of as the place where Thomas Blackith was station master when she (Grandma)was young." Anne Blackwood in letter dated 3 June 1987
"French Drove was, as one book put it, an bizzarely optimistic stop between March and Spalding. Situated in the middle of the lowland Lincolnshire Fens, it is two miles from Gedney Hill…Stamford Mercury - Thomas Sooley Blackith.jpg

Notes - Occupation is listed as 'Station Master' on marriage certificate dated 4 Oct 1873 of his daughter, Ann Harrison Blackith
- "The Thomas Sooley Blackith in my tree was born in c1814 in Whaplode, and died in 1887. He married Mary Anne Harrison in 1843, He was a butcher, but his business was liquidated (reported in the Stamford Mercury 31 July 1846 - solicitors notice 28 July 1846). He became a railway porter and his death was reported in the same newspaper. He is buried in Pinchbeck. His parents were Joseph Blackith and Ann Roberts, Joseph was the brother of my 3 times great grandfather, Staveley Blackith. I have written extensively in some of the Blackiths on my tree in life stories. Hope this helps."
